The 70th Anniversary Congress of Liberal International will take place in Andorra la Vella from 18 till 21 May 2017.
On the agenda : a substantially revised Liberal Manifesto 2017.
70 years ago, in 1947, liberals of the world published the Oxford Manifesto, the first international declaration of liberal principles.
Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroeck, former LI-president, will be one of the important participants at this congress.
ALDE Party and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Europe organise a festive ceremony on Saturday 25 March at Château Sainte Anne in Brussels.

This LI EC will place climate change centre-stage of liberal policies for 3 days as delegates prepare also to participate in the UN’s Climate Change Summit COP22.
At the invitation of LI Vice-President and Morocco’s Minister of Environment, Mrs Hakima el Haite, the meeting will be convened in close cooperation with the 3 Moroccan LI-memberparties ” Mouvement Populaire (MP)”, “Union Constitutionelle (UC)” and “Rassemblement Nationale des Indépendants (RNI)”
Meetings and conferences hosted by FNS, ALDE-party, ELF, ALF , IFLRY will also be part of the programme.

Begin oktober worden er in alle lokale afdelingen van Open VLD verkiezingen gehouden voor de hernieuwing van de afdelingsbesturen en van de regiobesturen.
In de afdeling BRUSSEL grepen die verkiezingen plaats op 7 oktober.
Annemie werd zowel in het afdelingsbestuur alsook als afgevaardigde in het regiobestuur ( Open VLD Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest) herverkozen.
Freddy Neyts werd herverkozen als voorzitter van de afdeling Brussel .

Annemie is aangeduid als één van de topobservers welke de Parlementsverkiezingen op 8 oktober in Georgië zullen monitoren.
Ze komt al op 3 oktober toe in Tbilisi om deze belangrijke missie mee voor te bereiden.
Annemie gaat ook deze keer naar de Democratische Conventie.
Annemie Neyts, Minister van Staat, is uitgenodigd door de NDI ( National Democratic Institute) om deel te nemen aan de ” 2016 International Leaders Forum ‘ ILF)” tijdens de ” Democratic National Convention ” in Philadelphia / USA , July 25-28 ,2016.

Dagelijks woont Annemie ook de Conventie bij , met als apotheose de nominatie van de kandidaat/kandidate voor het presidentschap van de VSA.
In de rand van de Conventie is er ook een bijeenkomst gepland van de vertegenwoordigers van de liberale partijen aangesloten bij de Liberal International, waarvan Annemie een voormalig voorzitter is.
( Annemie was reeds vroeger aanwezig op meerdere Democratische Conventies).

” In my capacity of Minister of State of Belgium , I headed the Belgian delegation at the UN Conference . I sat on the panel of 3 so-called side events on ‘ Growth , Employment and Work in the LDC’s, on ‘Tackling Risks and Vulnerabilities’ , and on ‘ Taking technology to the Last Mile’.
I adressed the Plenary on Friday afternoon, chaired the Plenary on Sunday morning, co-chaired a Round Table on Sunday and reported on that Round Table on Sunday afternoon. Together with Benin, Belgium had co-facilitated the Political Declaration on the comprehensive High Level Mid-Term review. This Political Declaration was unanimously approved. It is an important document which details both the weaknesses and the successes of the Program of Action for the Least Developed Countries ( LDC’s).
I underline the importance of the commitments made by the developed countries to devote at least 50% of their Official Development Assistance ( ODA) and at least 0,20 % of their GDP to the LDC’s. I also stress that no development is sustainable in given society, it is indispensable to ensure the participation of women and girls .”
The conference took place in Antalya, Turkey, from 27 till 29 May 2016
Op vraag van Vice-Premier A. De Croo neemt Minister van Staat Annemie Neyts als leider van de Belgische delegatie deel aan de ” Midterm Review of the Istanbul Programme of Action” . Deze High Level conferentie vindt plaats in Antalya, Turkije van 27 tot en met 29 mei.
De conferentie is een organisatie van UN-OHRLLS ( UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States) in samenwerking met de Turkse Republiek.
Annemie Neyts zal er onder meer een Rondetafel voorzitten en deel uit maken van twee panels.
