Bureau meeting Liberal International 22 & 23 maart te Berlijn
Op 22 en 23 maart kwam het Bureau van de Liberal International bijeen in Berlijn.
Belangrijkste beslissing : het congres 2018 zal in het najaar plaatsvinden in DAKAR , SENEGAL.

Liberal International 199th Executive Committe , Johannesburg 27-28 October 2017
Annemie neemt deel aan de vergaderingen van het Bureau en van het Executive Committee.
Vrijdagavond 27/10 gaat in Sophiatown de “Annual African Freedom Speech and Award Ceremony” door.
Mumsi Maimane leader DA, presents Zambian Opposition Leader H. Hichilema ( UPND) with the African Freedom Award 2017.
Annemie Neyts houdt een gelegenheidstoespraak ” Freedom is the art of life”.
Op zaterdag 28/10 leidt ze tijdens het werkbezoek aan Constitution Hill de Democratic Alliance Schaduwminister van Justitie mevrouw Breytenbach in.
Hommage aan Simone Veil
Met het heengaan van Simone Veil op 30 juni jongstleden, verdwijnt één van de meest inspirerende figuren van de recente Franse en Europese geschiedenis. Omdat ze Joodse was, werd ze in 1944 op 16 jarige leeftijd opgepakt in Nice, samen met haar ouders, zus en broer,en weggevoerd naar de vernietigingskampen. Zij en haar zus overleefden en keerden terug naar Frankrijk. Hun ouders en hun broer verloren ze.

Annemie is ook lid van de Raad van Bestuur van ROSAS, het dansgezelschap van Anne-Teresa De Keersmaeker.
Anne-Teresa heeft de regie en de choreografie in handen van de nieuwste operaproductie , Cosi fan tutte, in het Palais Garnier in Parijs.
En bij zo’n unieke gelegenheid gaan bijna alle bestuurders van Rosas naar de Première om Anne-Teresa en haar ploeg te bewonderen.

This LI EC will place climate change centre-stage of liberal policies for 3 days as delegates prepare also to participate in the UN’s Climate Change Summit COP22.
At the invitation of LI Vice-President and Morocco’s Minister of Environment, Mrs Hakima el Haite, the meeting will be convened in close cooperation with the 3 Moroccan LI-memberparties ” Mouvement Populaire (MP)”, “Union Constitutionelle (UC)” and “Rassemblement Nationale des Indépendants (RNI)”
Meetings and conferences hosted by FNS, ALDE-party, ELF, ALF , IFLRY will also be part of the programme.

UN midterm review conference of the Istanbul Program of action for the Least Developed Countries.
Short report by Annemie Neyts:
” In my capacity of Minister of State of Belgium , I headed the Belgian delegation at the UN Conference . I sat on the panel of 3 so-called side events on ‘ Growth , Employment and Work in the LDC’s, on ‘Tackling Risks and Vulnerabilities’ , and on ‘ Taking technology to the Last Mile’.
I adressed the Plenary on Friday afternoon, chaired the Plenary on Sunday morning, co-chaired a Round Table on Sunday and reported on that Round Table on Sunday afternoon. Together with Benin, Belgium had co-facilitated the Political Declaration on the comprehensive High Level Mid-Term review. This Political Declaration was unanimously approved. It is an important document which details both the weaknesses and the successes of the Program of Action for the Least Developed Countries ( LDC’s).
I underline the importance of the commitments made by the developed countries to devote at least 50% of their Official Development Assistance ( ODA) and at least 0,20 % of their GDP to the LDC’s. I also stress that no development is sustainable in given society, it is indispensable to ensure the participation of women and girls .”
The conference took place in Antalya, Turkey, from 27 till 29 May 2016
MIDTERM REVIEW of the Istanbul Programme of Action. Antalya 27-29 May 2016
Op vraag van Vice-Premier A. De Croo neemt Minister van Staat Annemie Neyts als leider van de Belgische delegatie deel aan de ” Midterm Review of the Istanbul Programme of Action” . Deze High Level conferentie vindt plaats in Antalya, Turkije van 27 tot en met 29 mei.
De conferentie is een organisatie van UN-OHRLLS ( UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States) in samenwerking met de Turkse Republiek.
Annemie Neyts zal er onder meer een Rondetafel voorzitten en deel uit maken van twee panels.
